Common Questions

These Questions Should Have Brainstormed You Atleast Once !

BEFORE IAs

UPSC conducts Civil Services Exam every year to fill the most creamy layer post in INDIA

CLASS I or GROUP A post

In which aspirants opt for IAS/IPS/IFS etc.

NOTE:

  • IAS is a CADRE
  • CSE is the exam for the whole recruitment process
  • UPSC is the commission which conducts this exam every year.

Well, it depends from person to person . But according to our past teaching experience achieving the goal depends on following factors:

#WHAT YOU REALLY ARE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE ALONE !
#WHAT YOU WANT
#WHY YOU WANT

and the most important

#ability to take ACTION,
at the the right time in the right direction.

It is purely a false notion and a big myth !

UPSC CIVIL SERVICES EXAM IS A JUST ANOTHER EXAM to check overall integrity of an aspirant. Chill ! there are many other exams which are more difficult on this planet :

  • Master Sommelier Diploma Exam(UK)
  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Exam(USA)
  • All Souls Prize Fellowship Exam
  • LIFE ! 😉 Why NOT?

UPSC articulates INTERVIEW as PERSONALITY TEST ! Well it is nothing like Roadies auditions to be very clear. This stage is conducted to assess:

  • MENTAL STRENGTH
  • PERSONA
  • PRESENCE OF MIND
  • TEMPEROMENT
  • PERSEVERANCE
  • PUNCTUALITY ETC.

THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL – ANYONE CLEARING THIS STAGE: should take a balanced approach to every issue rather than a parochial approach.

You want to become a DISTRICT COLLECTOR rather than just a BOOK COLLECTOR ! Its right time to donate some books now and kick start a worthy PREPARATION .

  • This is one of the most important question going through your mind ! For preparation of IAS you need no money . Thats true !

I have seen IAS officers  with utter determination, self esteem and self confidence . All did not necessarily  have Fathers money to disburse around in fancy coaching institutions. If you have some money invest in adapting skills or learn how to be self reliant. You are here to compete with the best civil servants of INDIA. Invest in your armours from today onwards.

Start living the life of an IAS officer from today and make a difference. Take the IAS pride and glory in YOU and be no lesser a person than anyone else of whom you have ever dreamt off.

Life is too big and IAS is not even a speck of dust to be unduly perturbed about. Make it as your aim, if you must, but remember there are things greater, round the corner.

But still there are some other expenses which you should take care of:

  • Health
  • Travel
  • Food
  • Time is money . With that being said dont waste your energy in pessimism . Start taking small actions today.

May the God has a best design for you waiting ahead . All the best !

This is a popular misbelief !

We personally have met many aspirants who gave up UPSC PREPARATION and choose regional exams/banking exams/railways etc. just because of this MISBELIEF .

UPSC is undoubtedly most transparent and accountable constitutional body.
There are some  glitches over cadre selection, transfers and appointments. UPSC is trying to overcome this year after year .

During IAS

Taking notes is an important part of every aspirants life. There are two main reasons why note-taking is important:

  • When you are reading or listening a lecture, taking notes helps you concentrate better.
  • In order to take notes – to write something sensible – you must understand the text.
  • As listening and reading are two important interactive tasks, taking notes that are legitimate
  • Taking notes does not mean writing down every word you hear; you need to actively decide what is important and how is related to UPSC preparation.
  • Notes help you to maintain a permanent record of what you have grasped. This is useful when revising in the future for examinations or other reasons.

QUALITY OF GOOD NOTES:

  • Accurate
  • Clear
  • Concise
  • Linkages

How to take notes:

When you’re reading, first survey the text to find the main points and how they are related. Then read for the subsidiary points; see how they are related to the main points and to each other. Then, reduce the points to notes. Make sure links and relationships between the ideas are shown.
IN SHORT : FOLLOW SQ3RT METHOD.

Good notes need to be organised properly.

There is a small story I’ve heard about Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, and Gates’s father at a dinner party. A guest asked them what the most important quality for success was today and all three responded “Focus” at the same exact time. They all smiled and laughed to each other because they hadn’t really prepared the answer.

We are all burdened with hundreds of texts and emails. These are no longer just a piece of distraction for the. Because of the mini-computers we carry around in our pockets, the flood of information distracts us wherever we happen to be, 24/7.

So turn off your iPhone, stop trolling your friends Facebook page, and get back to study !

With that being said clearing Prelims is an easy task. Follow a perfect routine program everyday.

Each guy is in a different place in his life and is running a different race ! Your goal should be ONE ! IAS 🙂

Revise ! Revise ! and Revise 🙂 Welcome to UPSC 😉

Many kinds of revision revision plan are available  :

  1. Monthly revision plan
  2. Fortnight revision plan
  3. Weekly revision plan
  4. Every two days
  5. Daily revision plan

Select any three of them as per availablity of time and portion.

Now, if you ask us personally how to revise . Everyday revision is must and should .

Close your eyes before you go to the bed and try to recollect what all you have learnt today . Practise this for 45 mins everyday as part of your preparation.

Follow our  program The Daily Akhbaar Show Videos and Editorial analysis on YOUTUBE regularly 🙂

Somewhere down the line , We all understand that mistakes and pain make us more matured person . We start loving people nearby more.

There are few things we want you to analyse :

Are you a lot blissed after choosing this career as an option for the second time now ?

IF ‘YES’

CHILL ! HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE AND

  • LET THINGS GO.
  • REDESIGN YOUR GOALS.
  • GIVE PRIORITY TO YOUR WORK.
  • INVEST SOME TIME TO IMBIBE VALUES.
  • LIVE A LIFE LIKE A UPSC IAS OFFICER.

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST – HOW CAN YOU MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE TODAY ?

The material which you have now is JUNK ! Sell this to some scrap merchant .

Aspirants think that notes and mnemonics of some senior khiladi’s can sail their boat out of this ocean !

Thats a big blunder .

Three Reasons why you should decompose such notes :

  • These are outdated (except for some optional subjects)
  • Notes of Tina Dabi can be never your derivatives untill you have read the whole portion atleast once
  • Prelims notes are never relevant ! Every year Current affairs change with that the static part also changes . Notes of any instititution can never suffice the whole preparation.

This is one of the most dicey question we have ever met !

Well to start with

Looking at the competitive and vigorous nature of UPSC , no newspaper can suffice everything !

But nobody reads all Newspapers too.

Yes thats “TRUE”

Thats the reason, you have to train your brain for these two combinations :

Two newspaper a Magazine

and

Two newspapers can be :

THE HINDU and INDIAN EXPRESS

or

THE HINDU and THE LIVEMINT.

Daily newspaper reading will surely fetch you that extra mark in PRELIMS, MAINS as well as INTERVIEW

COACHING

Ofcourse you should join a coaching. Dont jump from one library to another in search of books and seniors . Coaching centre can only keep your momentum on track rest all should be taken care by you.

Who else should take charge of your life IF NOT YOU?

Life is precious . Dont waste your Quality time with the people who preach IAS rather than taking care of your problems.

Thats TRUE! These are bigger than Multi national corporations ( MNC’s) 😉

But there is a take here,

not all coaching centres are the same . You Should OPT for the coaching centre where you can find personal attention for all your queries.

DELHI CHALO !

This slogan does not hold good when it comes to IAS COACHING in the present era. You can find ample amount of resources at your doorstep these days.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTING GOOD COACHING CENTRE:

1. LANGUAGE: Teacher is teaching in which medium . ENG/HINDI (this is the biggest issue before landinng up in any coaching center.

2.RESOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEMS: how are your questions being tackled by those teachers . Are your questions being addressed or ignored ?

3.VENUE: YES !Even the location can impact your studies. Check whether you can reach on time or not .

4.LIBRARY: Carry minimal books everyday and find some quite place in library for studies .

5. FEEDBACK: Students who have accomplished a course in such institute can better tell you the actual scenario of the coaching institute . Take a stand only after reading 15 to 20 different opinions.

6.FEES: Dont spill a lot of your parents money / or take a loan / pledge gold etc for joining a coaching centre . Rather you should go for a coaching which is VALUE for the money.

7.BASIC AMENITIES: Other than ROTI,KAPDA and MAKAAN at a coaching centre you should look for :

  • NOTES
  • HANDWRITTEN MIND-MAPS BY THE FACULTIES
  • CLEAN AIR
  • DRINKING WATER FACILITY
  •  CLEAN WASHROOM
  • FEASIBLE CLASSROOMS

We assume you are in contact with XEROX walas or You have been gifted any Notes by Seniors .

In any of the above following cases:

Bad news:Those notes have EXPIRED !

Good news is! Still you can keep them at your books shelf garage for reference (STATIC).

Take a bold decision .

Decide where you want to land up after 1 year ! If your dreams are shattered day in and day out living at such a place , Its time to change your study plan n make a plan on your own and act upon it.

IASbhai ADVICE :SELF STUDY at a place with minimal distractions. Dont pressurize your parents more for the changes you have made in your life.

Take them into confidence and plan it ahead.

Virtual World can never be real . Thats true !

Our best advice in this regard is to make notes for every video and every post you read and analyse .As a matter of fact let us make it very clear !

Can you remember a text message sent to you yesterday ?

ANSWER WILL BE NO !

Nobody remembers it .Then how can you expect reading something on internet or watching a youtube video will make u earn wisdom ?

Horn your skills by making note of each and everything you are watching online . REVISE them multiple times . Thats the only way how you can clear IAS EXAM .

THE BEST PART OF ONLINE LEARNING IS : ONLINE CONTENT IS MORE LEGIT AND SORTED THAN OFFLINE MATERIAL .ie.

Up to date content or rejuvenated material is only ranked by GOOGLE on the first page !
